Brass in our Everyday Life

The future belongs to brass - a modern material dating back to ancient times!

Brass has superb properties such as excellent machinability, resistance to corrosion and wear, decorative surface which no other material can match. By using different alloys brass can perfectly be adopted to any application.

Brass has already been taken to the moon and used in deep-sea expeditions. It is just as much at home in computers and modern micro-technology as in many items that make our everyday life comfortable, pleasant and practical.

Brass rods, tubes and profiles are indispensable semi-finished products in the manufacturing of products that feature in almost all parts of our life - gas, water and heating fittings for domestic and industrial use, parts for the automotive industry - ranging from bicycles to heavy commercial vehicles, in electrical engineering and in mechanical and plant construction.

Brass guarantees safe supply of clean water, heat, light.

Brass does not necessarily appear at first sight under a bright surface. This phenomenon which we call "brass incognito" mainly stands for chrome or nickel-plated products of the plumbing industry.

The anti-bacterial effect of brass ensures that diseases and germs cannot spread through water pipes and fittings.

High-tensile brass is used whenever ductility, exellent surface quality, conductivity and resistance to wear are required, e. g. for the production of bearing bushes, valve guides in engines or transmission parts such as shifting forks and synchronizer rings.

As a result of its brilliant shine, brass is ideal for products made by the jewellery, furniture and lighting industry.
